QUARTERLY MEETING WITH THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTION OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR

The Union met with Mr. FYLLA SAINT-EUDES, Minister of Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sectoron Thursday October 14, 2021 at the Radisson Hotel in Brazzaville. This meeting was held in the framework of the quarterly meetings with the economic partners set up by the Minister.

Mr. FYLLA SAINT-EUDES wished to make a to follow up on the progress of the commitments on both sides in order to to improve the business climate in the in Congo and the industrial sector and the promotion of the private sector.

Following the Minister's welcome and the Unicongo President's opening remarks, the Executive Secretary General presented the White Paper of the Union

" Proposals for solutions to improve the business climate and revive the economy".

The latter summarizes the various concerns of the of the members of the employers' union, in perfect adequacy with the project of society presented by His Excellency Denis SASSOU-NGUESSO, President of the Republic and Head of the State. As a reminder, it aims at allowing a better industrialization and a restart of the country after the economic and health crisis, while improving the business climate.

After the detailed restitution of the document, Mr. FYLLA SAINT-EUDES concluded the session by assuring that the Prime Minister, Head of Government, pays particular attention to the improvement of the business climate and on the attractiveness of the Congoin particular by :

  • Ensuring legal legal and judicial security for investors;
  • Dealing with the problem of multiplicity and of the overlapping of administrative controls ;
  • Continuing to settles domestic commercial debt ;
  • Ensuring the fluidity of the financial systemThe financial system is still impacted by the implementation of the new BEAC exchange regulations.

Finally, the Minister invited Unicongo to pursue its approach by a proposal of actions to be carried out in priority in the short, medium and long term. A task to which the Union will get down to in the next few weeks in anticipation of the setting up of the public-private dialogue desired by the Head of Government.
