FIRST MEETINGS WITH THE NEW MINISTERS OF THE CONGOLESE GOVERNMENT

With the aim of establishing an ongoing dialogue with the new ministers whose responsibilities affect the private sector, Unicongo has secured two hearingson 21 and 23 June 2021respectively, with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Civic Education, Qualifying Training and Employment, and the Minister of Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sector.

During these two meetings, the Unicongo delegation was led by Mr. Alphonse MISSENGUI, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union.

    • At the first hearing, Unicongo outlined the concerns of concerns of its members related to the procedures and the fees charged by the Congolese Employment Agency (ACPE) for the processing of work contracts and authorizations. It also requested that a framework for periodic consultation be created between Unicongo and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Civic Education, Qualifying Training and Employment.

    • The audience with the Minister of Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sector was an opportunity for Unicongo to present, by federation, the panorama of the different sectors of the Congolese economy following the impact of Covid-19and their prospects the national and international context. This presentation was completed by the very worrying business environment which is unfavorable to the attractiveness of private investments and the revival of the economy.

In his speech, the Minister of Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sector reassured Unicongo for the attention he pays to all the problems facing the Congolese private sector, and his commitment to seek solutions. commitment to seek solutions. He also presented the main lines of his action programfor which he strongly wished the contribution of Unicongo. For that, he planned to make the point once every six months with the Union.
