MEETING WITH THE MINISTER OF ECONOMY, PLANNING, STATISTICS AND REGIONAL INTEGRATION

On Monday, October 11, 2021, Unicongo was invited to a meeting with the Minister of Economy, Planning, Statistics and Regional Integrationat the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pointe-Noire.

The objective of this meeting was to exchange on the business climatebut also on the involvement of the private sector in the development of the National Development Plan 2022-2026 of the Republic of Congo.

The Minister began her speech by stressing the importance of this meeting. The private sector having indeed a particular knowledge of the field, which she hopes to enrich which she hopes to enrich, as well as her program.  

Officially announced during the meeting, the National Development Plan (NDP) 2022-2026 is designed to revitalizing the attractiveness of the Congolese economy. The Minister affirmed her willingness to include this time, the private sector at the first level in the realization of this new plan. And notably in the detailed elaboration of the 6 main axes.

Among others, Unicongo was given the floor. Its speakers reaffirmed their willingness to support the Government on economic and social issues. The Union and its federations are indeed available to work on the priority axes mentioned by Mrs. EBOUKA-BABCKAS.

The Unicongo White Paper is intended to be a tool for the Congolese government to solidify in order to solidify the foundations necessary for the revival of the economy. It is no longer necessary to prove the value of the African continent, but it is essential to to address certain priority prerequisites in order to reassure and attract new investors.  

The final word went to the Minister who assured that her priority, and that of the Government, was to establish an effective public-private dialogue. Working sessions are to be scheduled soon.
