MEETING WITH THE MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND PROMOTION OF PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

The President of Unicongo met with the Minister of International Cooperation and Promotion of Public-Private Partnership Friday, July 2, 2021, at his office.

The meeting, at the initiative of the Minister, focused on the concerns of the concerns of the private sector regarding the business climate in in Congo. They are characterized by: the uncertainty of the legal and institutional framework, and the multiplication of administrative, fiscal and customs controls and parafiscal taxes that suffocate private companies.

The main expectation presented by the representative of Unicongo concerned the establishment of a public-private dialogue. In addition to reassuring national and foreign investors, its objective would be to serve as a framework:

  • of appropriate consultation on public policies that affect the private sector;
  • to find solutions to the problems of the private sector.

The Minister warmly thanked the President of the Union for his presentation. He assured that the main points raised will find their solutions in the measures stated by the Head of State during his inauguration speech. And in particular thanks to the opportunities offered by the public-private partnership.
