LCR meets with carriers

Achievements to date

On February 16, 2024, LCR, represented by Mr. Benjamin ASSANTE, Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Wang Xiaochuan, Administrative Director, and Ms. Berdjilen GOMEZ, Communications Manager, organized a meeting bringing together companies from the ground transportation sector and Unicongo. The aim was to present LCR's missions and take stock of achievements in 2023 and plans for 2024. Mr. Assante stressed the importance of monitoring and maintaining roads to ensure their good condition and the safety of users.

In 2023, despite an increase in accidents, 3,612 interventions were carried out with 45 people mobilized 7 days a week. Periodic inspection measures will be implemented to guarantee road quality. Tolls will continue to be collected to finance the work.

LCR attaches great importance to preserving road assets and regulating traffic. By 2023, the company had renovated 45 km of pavement in the Mayombe and Pool regions and completed more than 80 projects, including 20 on embankment stabilization. It has also installed five drainage systems and built a new bridge. For 2024, LCR plans to recast 837 culverts, build 36 bridges and 78 basins, install more than 2,000 road signs, build 110 km of parapets and 22 km of guardrails. Two rest areas will be built for the well-being of drivers. The meeting concluded with a number of awareness-raising measures, including pre-trip vehicle checks and the future introduction of alcohol testing.
